My name is Christina Kokesh, and I’m a river photographer
I’ve been shooting 35mm film for 10 years, and I’ve been a boater for 9. I have guided in Hells Canyon, the Lower Salmon, the Deschutes, the Grande Rhonde and the Snake section of Teton National park. With my fellow boating friends I have also rowed the Metolious, Clackamas, White Salmon, Flaming Gorge, Colorado, Teiton, Owyhee and the Rogue. The Grand Canyon is my number one goal and dream.
Thousands of rowing miles and photographs later I finally realized my true calling was to bring these two parts of myself together. The feeling of capturing a moment through my lens, and the feeling of rowing a raft are one and the same. To do them at the same time is my serenity.
My experience, goals and aspirations include being an advocate to protect and preserve river corridors
Collaborating and marketing with rafting companies and the gear they make and that I use every day
Creating art that becomes a part of your home
& of course any invitation to join your adventures if you need someone take photos & row a boat
More than anything I want to go boating with my friends, because in my future it shall always be a guarantee. Through the love and support of my family, friends and community I have been privileged and so lucky to live this beautiful life. I'm looking forward to sharing it with whoever comes next.
